Renowned for his ability to develop innovative strategies that solve complex labour relations problems, Brett has appeared as counsel for employers in hundreds of administrative and court proceedings at both the federal and provincial level. He frequently represents employers in collective bargaining negotiations and provides strategic advice on managing a wide variety of labour relations issues.
Certified as a Specialist in Labour Law since 1998, Brett is widely recognized as one of the country’s top practitioners of management labour and employment law. His exceptional advocacy has earned him a Best Lawyers in Canada designation and a spot on Martindale-Hubbell’s List of Distinguished Peer Rated Lawyers.
In addition to his work with federal and provincial Crown corporations, Brett has represented municipalities, railways, utilities and private sector clients in manufacturing, transportation, information technology, business services and other industries.
A proud Maritimer, Brett attended St. Mary’s University for his undergraduate studies and received his LL.B. from Dalhousie Law School in Halifax. He was called to the bar in 1990.
