A skilled litigator, Daina represents clients in the courts, at grievance arbitrations, and before various administrative tribunals, including the Human Rights Tribunal of Ontario and the Ontario Labour Relations Board.
Daina provides practical and strategic advice on all workplace issues, with a particular focus on the interpretation and application of collective agreements, the Labour Relations Act, the Human Rights Code, and the Employment Standards Act.
Daina works with a diverse group of clients, including private, public and broader public sector employers, and takes an active interest in understanding clients’ needs so she can provide pragmatic solutions for their unique workplace issues.
Daina has written and spoken on various labour and employment law topics. She is also the Consulting Editor of Employment Law for Business and Human Resources Professionals, an employment law text regularly used in post-secondary programs.
Daina received her J.D. from the University of Western Ontario, where she received the Edna Yuet-Lui Chan Memorial Award in recognition of her ingenuity, humour, enthusiasm and camaraderie. Prior to attending law school, Daina received a B.Sc. (Hons) in Genetics from McMaster University. She was called to the bar in 2013.
